5 Things I Started Doing For My Skin In My 30s

I haven’t been shy about the changes I’ve seen in my skin recently, especially as I’m now officially a member of the mid-thirties club. Skincare, more so than anything in my beauty routine, has become my priority, and I spend the most time, focus, and money on it. Veryyyy different than barely paying attention to my complexion in my twenties!

I truly find joy in my skincare routine now and wanted to share 5 things I’ve begun doing since turning 30.

Regular visits to the dermatologist
In my twenties, I only went to the derm if I had a major issue. Now, I go twice a year! Especially as I became pregnant and in general noticed hormonal shifts in my skin, I wanted a professional’s opinion. It’s also peace of mind getting my freckles and moles checked regularly.

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Power Serum
This lovely product sits right next to my bed, and I don’t go a night without it. I’ve been a long-time lover of Origins, and this specific item – fortified with Anogeissus, a rare bark harvest used as a natural wound healer, bamboo, and pea extract & amino acids – helps with my skin’s aging. I love that it helps with fine lines, firms the skin, and makes my overall appearance more youthful almost overnight. It goes on right after I cleanse!

Monthly facials
The price tag is hefty, yes, but it’s something I’ve made room for in my thirties. I try to go once a month, or at least once every six weeks, and it’s a MAJOR key for happy skin. I’d gladly give up one nice meal a month in return for a relaxing and rejuvenating facial. Same?

Going bare
I wasn’t confident enough to go without makeup often in my twenties, and now, I’m all about it. It likely stems from the fact that my skin is better now than ever (thanks to this list!), and I’m a fan of that au naturel life, but I let my skin breathe at least 2 days a week!

Sipping collagen
My favorite! A scoop of this goes into my smoothie every single day – or even a glass of water if I’m not making one. It’s amazing for not only your skin, but your nails and hair too. Such an easy addition in the name of healthy skin.

Have you made any changes since the clock hit 3-0? I’d love to hear!
